Sin or sins?
There is a difference
--
“The lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” John 1:29.
Did you read that well? It reads, “sin,” not “sins.”
Repeatedly, you find the Godhead dealing with sin, and not sins.
When Jesus talked about the coming of the Holy Spirit, he said he would do three things:
“He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” John 16:8.
And then the next verses explain those three items… but see how he expounds on sin:
“Of sin, because they do not believe in me.” John 16:9.
Now….
What is this sin?
Go back in the garden of Eden…what is the meaning of the garden of Eden?
Note; when you read the Bible, allow it to explain itself. And it does…let me give you an example.
What is love? “This is love, that we walk according to his commandments.” 2 John 6.
What is eternal life? “And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” John 17:3. By the way, Jesus said these words..
You get the point…..so what was the garden of Eden?
“You were in Eden, the garden of God. Ezekiel 28:13.
Did you catch it? And what is a garden? Eh, I am over quoting verses….I am losing the point of what I want to say…
Anyway, sin….not the verb, but the noun…what sin is this?
TRUST. That’s it. Go back to John 16:9. Read it sloooowlllllyyyy….That’s the only sin that takes you to hell.
Because…..I am about to make a sarcastic statement…..
Jesus came to take the hell out of you and me….because it is in us….
How did it get in us? We ate it..
Look at the first verse in Genesis. And read it sllllooowwwlllly. Do you see the mention of hell? God didn’t create hell…..but he created a tree….
“Of knowledge of good and evil.” Genesis 2:17.
Why? It’s those verses in the Bible I refer to as “A TAKEN.”
